ART THERAPY

For Teens & Adults

What A Session Looks Like

Creative Arts Therapy also supports teens and adults who wish to explore emotions, reduce stress, and reconnect with their inner world. Clients are free to express themselves through painting, music, writing, or sculpting, with no need for artistic skill — it’s all about expression, not perfection. Each session is tailored to the individual, offering a calm, reflective space for growth, insight, and self-discovery.

What Does The Therapy Room Look Like

Sessions take place in a calm and welcoming environment, where you’re free to express yourself through painting, music, writing, sculpting, or other creative forms that feel right for you. You don’t need to be “good” at art — it’s not about creating something perfect, but about expressing what’s inside in a safe and meaningful way.

Through this creative process, many people find new perspectives, release stress, and begin to make sense of experiences that have felt confusing or overwhelming. The therapist gently guides and supports you, helping you uncover insights, build resilience, and find clarity and healing through creative expression.

Each session is tailored to your goals and pace, offering a space where you can slow down, reconnect with your inner world, and discover new ways to understand and care for yourself.

The therapy rooms are structured, private, and therapeutically designed environments that promote a sense of safety and calm. Each space is equipped with a range of art materials, musical instruments, and play resources to support various modes of creative expression. The layout and atmosphere are intentionally arranged to be non-distracting, comfortable, and conducive to focused therapeutic work, allowing clients to engage fully in the creative process

Testimonials

"Overall a very successful experience. A big improvement in the whole family. My child will now usually tell me when she is beginning to feel angry before losing her temper. If she begins to act out its easier to calm her down. She apologises without being told that she should."

"More open to trying or even touching different foods. His Teacher told me he is much more confident at school, chats a lot and is more comfortable. He has a lovely relationship with his brother now, he’s more patient with him and seems to have more patience with others."

"My daughter’s meltdowns have definitely been occurring less. She is able to hear ‘no’ now with little reaction and can identify when she needs to leave a space. She rarely hits out at others and this was occurring a lot before she began therapy."

"Our duaghter can now tell me when she is feeling worried and why. Her behaviour is generally more settled and less explosive. She has hugely benefitted from therapy and we have seen so much progress across the board – Thank you!"

"To say he enjoyed his sessions is an understatement. He looked forward to each week and was actually sad when it ended. He would completely relax and engage in the session each week, whether it was art, music, play, etc."

"We couldn’t recommend the centre high enough - it offers therapy to children in a quiet, comfortable, relaxing surrounding, thus resulting in very positive sessions for the children."

ABOUT ART THERAPY

How Does Creative Therapy Work?

Creative therapy provides a safe and supportive space where children, adolescents, and adults can explore and express their thoughts and feelings. With the guidance of a trained creative therapist, clients can communicate not only through talking but also through creative activities such as art, music, and play. These approaches can make it easier to express emotions, especially when words feel difficult, helping people better understand their experiences and develop healthier ways of coping.

What Happens During a Creative Therapy Session?

Creative therapy is a client-led process, which means the sessions are guided by what feels most important to you. Your therapist will provide a safe and respectful environment while supporting you to explore your feelings at your own pace.

There is no right or wrong way to take part in creative therapy. Some people may wish to talk more, while others may prefer to express themselves through creative materials or activities. The therapist works alongside you to find what feels most helpful and meaningful.

Who Is Creative Therapy For?

The short answer is everyone!

  • Children & Teens who may find it difficult to articulate complex feelings.

  • People dealing with Stress or Burnout looking for a tactile way to decompress.

  • Individuals processing Trauma where words feel too difficult or insufficient.

  • Neurodivergent individuals who may prefer a sensory-based or visual communication style.

  • Anyone seeking a deeper, more intuitive connection with their inner self.

What is Expected of Me During Creative Therapy?

You are welcome to show up exactly as you are for creative therapy. There is no right or wrong way to begin. Whether you feel happy, worried, tired, or unsure, the space is there to support you just as you are in that moment.
